Size Guide

MAZANO LTD — UK SIZE & FIT GUIDE

Workwear • Hi-Vis • Clothing • Footwear • Custom Printing

At Mazano Ltd, many of our clothing and workwear ranges are available from Small (S) to 5XL. Selected products may use different size ranges, including numeric waist sizes, footwear sizes, or sizes outside S–5XL.

Because fit can vary between manufacturers, garment styles, fabrics and product constructions, the measurements below are a general body-size reference only. They are not universal garment measurements.

Where a product page contains its own size chart or measurements, the product-specific information always takes priority over this general guide.

1. Adult Unisex / Men's Clothing Size Guide

Suitable as a general guide for Mazano T-shirts, polo shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, jackets, fleeces, bodywarmers, workwear and selected hi-vis garments.

Important: These are approximate body measurements, not flat garment measurements. Do not use this chart to choose trousers, footwear, or any product that provides its own specific chart.

Mazano Size Chest Chest CM Approx. Waist Waist CM
S 34–36" 86–91 cm 28–30" 71–76 cm
M 38–40" 97–102 cm 32–34" 81–86 cm
L 42–44" 107–112 cm 36–38" 91–97 cm
XL 46–48" 117–122 cm 40–42" 102–107 cm
2XL 50–52" 127–132 cm 44–46" 112–117 cm
3XL 54–56" 137–142 cm 48–50" 122–127 cm
4XL 58–60" 147–152 cm 52–54" 132–137 cm
5XL 62–64" 157–163 cm 56–58" 142–147 cm

How to measure your chest

Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the measuring tape horizontal and comfortably loose.

For workwear or hi-vis clothing worn over hoodies, jumpers or other layers, we recommend allowing additional room rather than selecting an excessively tight fit.

2. Ladies' UK Clothing Guide

This can be used as a general guide for Mazano ladies' jackets, trousers, T-shirts, hoodies and other apparel.

Mazano Size Approx. UK Size Bust Waist Hips
S UK 8–10 32–35" 25–28" 34–37"
M UK 12–14 36–39" 29–32" 38–41"
L UK 16–18 40–43" 33–36" 42–45"
XL UK 20–22 44–47" 37–40" 46–49"
2XL UK 24–26 48–51" 41–44" 50–53"
3XL UK 28–30 52–55" 45–48" 54–57"
4XL UK 32–34 56–59" 49–52" 58–61"
5XL UK 36–38 60–63" 53–56" 62–65"

These conversions are approximate because women's sizing varies considerably between garment manufacturers and garment styles.

If a ladies' product has its own UK size, waist, bust or hip measurements, use the measurements shown on that product page instead of this general conversion table.

3. T-Shirts & Print-on-Demand T-Shirts

For standard and personalised T-shirts, use the size chart supplied for the actual garment wherever available. Printing or personalisation does not change the underlying garment size.

Size Recommended Chest
S 34–36"
M 38–40"
L 42–44"
XL 46–48"
2XL 50–52"
3XL 54–56"
4XL 58–60"
5XL 62–64"

Regular fit: choose your normal size.

Relaxed/looser fit: consider one size larger.

Oversized look: depending on the T-shirt style, customers may prefer one or two sizes larger.

For personalised garments, customers should check the product-specific sizing carefully before approving printing or customisation.

Personalised products may have different change-of-mind return conditions from standard stock. This does not affect any statutory rights relating to faulty, damaged, incorrectly produced or misdescribed goods.

4. Hoodies & Sweatshirts

Our general hoodie sizing follows the same S–5XL chest guide.

Size Chest
S 34–36"
M 38–40"
L 42–44"
XL 46–48"
2XL 50–52"
3XL 54–56"
4XL 58–60"
5XL 62–64"

If the hoodie will be worn over another sweatshirt or several layers, consider sizing up.

5. Polo Shirts & Work T-Shirts

For work polos and T-shirts, measure the chest while wearing the type of base layer normally worn at work.

For example:

Body Chest Suggested Size
35" S
39" M
43" L
47" XL
51" 2XL
55" 3XL
59" 4XL
63" 5XL

Customers between two sizes who prefer additional movement should generally choose the larger size.

6. Jackets, Fleeces, Bombers & Bodywarmers

Outerwear may be designed with additional room for layering, but the amount of extra space varies by product.

For the best fit:

  • Measure your chest while wearing the type of clothing you expect to wear underneath.

  • Compare that measurement with the specific product size chart where one is provided.

  • Do not automatically size up, because some workwear and outerwear styles are already cut generously.

  • If you are between sizes and need extra movement or layering room, the larger size may be more suitable.

The product-specific chart takes priority over the general S–5XL chest guide.

7. Hi-Vis Clothing Size Guide

Mazano's hi-vis range can include items such as:

Hi-vis vests, T-shirts, polos, sweatshirts, fleeces, pull-over hoodies, zip hoodies, softshell jackets, bomber jackets, parkas, bodywarmers, rainwear, trousers, bib & brace garments and hi-vis suits.

Use the following general upper-body sizing only where the individual product does not provide a more specific chart:

Hi-Vis Size Recommended Chest
S 34–36"
M 38–40"
L 42–44"
XL 46–48"
2XL 50–52"
3XL 54–56"
4XL 58–60"
5XL 62–64"

Hi-vis fit advice

A hi-vis vest worn directly over a T-shirt can normally be purchased in the customer's regular size.

A hi-vis vest or jacket worn over a thick hoodie, fleece or work jacket may require extra room.

Hi-vis garments should not be worn so tightly that movement is restricted or reflective areas are distorted or obscured.

Sizing information does not confirm a garment's safety classification or PPE certification. Where a product is sold as protective or certified hi-vis clothing, rely only on the standard, class, certification and conformity information specifically stated on the product page, label or supplied documentation.

8. Hi-Vis Vests

Because hi-vis vests are often worn over other clothing:

Clothing Under Vest Suggested Choice
T-shirt only Normal size
Polo/light sweatshirt Normal size or one size larger
Hoodie Consider one size larger
Thick jacket Check garment measurements carefully

For businesses ordering uniforms for multiple workers, we recommend measuring each employee rather than estimating sizes by appearance.

9. Hi-Vis Hoodies & Sweatshirts

Hi-vis hoodies should generally fit similarly to standard workwear hoodies.

The chest measurement is the most important measurement.

If the wearer is between two sizes or needs freedom of movement for manual work, the larger size will normally provide a more comfortable working fit.

10. Hi-Vis Jackets, Bombers & Parkas

Hi-vis outerwear may be worn over several layers.

Measure your chest while wearing approximately the same clothing you expect to wear underneath the jacket.

For example, if your normal chest is 43 inches and you normally wear a thick hoodie underneath, a larger jacket may provide a better working fit than a close-fitting garment.

11. Hi-Vis Rain Suits

For two-piece Mazano rainwear consisting of jacket and trousers, customers should consider both:

Chest measurement for the jacket and waist measurement for the trousers.

For customers needing to wear rainwear over normal work trousers and a work jacket, allow sufficient room for layering.

12. Work Trousers, Joggers & Hi-Vis Trousers

Mazano trousers do not use one universal S–5XL waist conversion. Different trouser styles may use:

  • Numeric UK waist sizes, such as W30, W32, W34 and so on

  • Letter sizes, such as S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL or 5XL

  • Elasticated or stretch waists

  • Fixed waists

  • Different inside-leg lengths

Because of these differences, do not convert a trouser size using the general upper-body S–5XL chart.

How to choose trouser size

  1. Measure around the part of your waist where you normally wear your trousers.

  2. Keep the tape level and comfortably fitted rather than pulling it tightly.

  3. Check the exact waist and inside-leg measurements on the individual product page.

  4. If the product uses S–5XL sizing, use the product-specific trouser chart, not a universal S–5XL conversion.

  5. For elasticated trousers or joggers, check the stated relaxed and/or stretched waist range where supplied.

The product page measurement is the primary sizing reference for all Mazano trousers.

13. Trouser Length Guide

Where a Mazano trouser is specifically offered in Short, Regular or Long lengths, the following can be used as a general UK reference:

Leg Length Approx. Inside Leg
Short 29" / 74 cm
Regular 31" / 79 cm
Long 33" / 84 cm

Not every Mazano product uses these standard leg lengths. Some products may have a fixed inside leg, such as 30 inches, or may provide different measurements. Always check the individual product listing.

14. How to Measure Inside Leg

Measure from the top of your inner thigh/crotch area straight down to where you want the trouser hem to finish.

For work trousers worn with safety boots, consider where you want the trouser leg to sit over the footwear.

15. UK Footwear & Safety Shoe Guide

For Mazano safety shoes, trainers and safety boots, customers should normally choose their usual UK footwear size unless the individual listing states otherwise.

Approximate UK / EU Footwear Conversion

UK Size Approx. EU Size Approx. Foot Length
UK 3 EU 36 22–22.5 cm
UK 4 EU 37 22.5–23.5 cm
UK 5 EU 38 23.5–24 cm
UK 6 EU 39–40 24–25 cm
UK 7 EU 41 25–25.5 cm
UK 8 EU 42 25.5–26.5 cm
UK 9 EU 43 26.5–27.5 cm
UK 10 EU 44 27.5–28 cm
UK 11 EU 45 28–29 cm
UK 12 EU 46 29–30 cm
UK 13 EU 47–48 30–31 cm
UK 14 EU 49 31–31.5 cm

Important: UK/EU conversions and internal shoe lengths vary by manufacturer and footwear construction. The size and measurements shown on the individual Mazano product page should be treated as the primary sizing reference.

Where a product is available up to UK 14, UK 14 should be selected from that product's own size options rather than inferred from another footwear style.

16. Safety Boot Fit

Safety footwear should have enough space to:

allow natural toe movement, accommodate work socks, prevent excessive pressure from a safety toe cap and remain secure around the heel.

Customers who normally wear thick thermal or work socks should measure their feet while wearing those socks.

This section is fit guidance only. It does not confirm that a particular shoe or boot has a steel toe, puncture-resistant midsole, slip rating, waterproof rating or any specific safety certification. Check the individual product page and supplied product information for the exact features and applicable safety standard.

17. How to Measure Your Foot

Place a sheet of paper against a wall.

Stand on the paper with your heel lightly touching the wall.

Mark where your longest toe finishes.

Measure from the edge of the paper to the mark.

Measure both feet and use the measurement of the larger foot when choosing your size.

18. Mazano Print-on-Demand Size Guide

Mazano Ltd also provides custom print-on-demand and garment personalisation.

Customers can have their own:

logos, company names, text, artwork, graphics, team names and original designs printed on suitable Mazano garments.

Popular print positions include the following.

Print Position Typical Print Width
Small left chest logo 7–10 cm
Small right chest logo 7–10 cm
Centre chest 15–25 cm
Standard front design 20–28 cm
Large front design 28–33 cm
Standard back logo 20–28 cm
Large back design 28–33 cm
Sleeve logo 6–10 cm
Trouser logo 6–10 cm

These are recommended general dimensions rather than fixed limits.

The ideal size depends on the garment size, artwork proportions and printing area.

19. Recommended Print Size by Garment Size

For print-on-demand orders, the same artwork should not necessarily be printed at exactly the same physical size across different garment sizes. The table below is a visual placement guide only, not a guaranteed print dimension.

Garment Size Typical Full Front Print Width
S 24–27 cm
M 26–29 cm
L 27–30 cm
XL 28–31 cm
2XL 29–32 cm
3XL 30–33 cm
4XL 31–34 cm
5XL 32–35 cm

Mazano may adjust the design proportionally so that the print looks balanced on different garment sizes, subject to the garment construction, printable area and artwork proportions.

Where a specific print size or placement is important, it should be confirmed before production.

20. Hi-Vis Custom Logo Printing

Mazano can personalise suitable hi-vis garments with company logos, names and other designs.

Typical placements include:

Position Suggested Size
Front chest 7–10 cm
Opposite chest 7–10 cm
Upper back 15–25 cm
Large back logo 20–30 cm

Printing positions can be adjusted depending on the garment construction.

Logos should normally be positioned away from reflective tape, seams, zips, pockets and other areas unsuitable for heat transfer.

Custom printing must not be assumed to preserve or alter any PPE classification. Where a hi-vis garment is certified, the permitted print area and any effect of decoration should be checked against the specific garment information before production.

21. Artwork for Mazano Print-on-Demand

For the best printing result, customers should provide the highest-quality artwork available.

Preferred artwork includes a high-resolution PNG with transparent background or suitable high-quality vector artwork.

Low-resolution screenshots, heavily compressed images or blurred photographs may not produce a sharp finished print.

22. Measuring Guide

For the best fit, take measurements while wearing light clothing.

Measurement How to Measure
Chest/Bust Measure around the fullest part
Waist Measure around your natural waist
Hips Measure around the fullest part
Inside Leg Measure crotch to desired trouser hem
Foot Measure heel to longest toe

Do not pull the measuring tape excessively tight.

Important Mazano Sizing Notice

Mazano Ltd offers many clothing and workwear products from Small (S) through 5XL.

However, sizing and fit can vary between manufacturers, product styles and fabrics. Measurements in this guide are designed to help customers choose a suitable size and should not be treated as exact garment dimensions for every Mazano product.

For the most accurate fit, always check the individual product description where specific garment measurements are provided.

For personalised or print-on-demand orders, we strongly recommend confirming the garment size before printing.
